We continue our journey across the beauty of the hidden treasures of Mexico, this is the last part of our counting of the most beautiful cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula. As you may remember these natural sites offer incredible options to live an unforgettable adventures like rappel, swimming, camping and snorkel just to mention a few activities. To make them even more fascinating, also they are located in the most exuberant places like forests, mountains even in the middle of the jungles of our country.

 

 

11.-Cenote X-canche.

This cenote is located in the archaelogical site of Ek Balam, Yucatan, you will travel through a jungle path of 1.6 kilometers and once you got there you have the choice of camping in its cabins. At X-canche you can do many activities, from rappel, swimming, snorkeling to zip lining.

12.-Cenote Cumpich.

Almost a virgin place, this cenote is surrounded by jungle and caves. Located in the town of San Vicente Cumpich, Campeche in this cenote you need to descend 7 meters underground into this cavern where you will discover the natural greatness of its stalactites and stalagmites.

13.-Cenotes Siete Bocas.

Surrounded by the jungle and ancient rocky formations this cenote is located in the cenotes route 20 minutes away from Puerto Morelos. With its crystal waters and nature it is an incredible place to do snorkel and swim. Remember to bring your own snorkel equipment because this place is almost virgin.

14.-Cenote Dos Ojos.

In the north of Tulum you will find this flooded cave of 120 meter of depth. It is a perfect place to do snuba and snorkel to cross below the water to another adjacent cenote known as the cave of the bats. During the expedition to study this cenote more than 67 kilometers of underground routes were found.

15.-Cenote Manatí

Located between Puerto Aventuras and Tulum, it used to be the home for manatees. With 6 meters of depth it is an incredible place to snorkel and swim where you can find reef formations and a big cave that connects to the sea.

16.-Cenote Cristalino

Located close to Puerto Aventuras, this cenote is like a giant pool where you can jump off from a cliff of 4.5 meters to swim in the crystal waters. You can also do ziplines, snorkel and discover the biodiversity of tropical fishes living there.

17.-Cenote Chaak-Tun.

A few minutes away from Playa del Carmen an incredible ancient cavern is waiting for you. Here you will find many rock formations such as stalactites and stalagmites along the path to the crystal waters where you can swim or snorkel.

18.-Cenote Jardin del Edén or Ponderosa.

With 13 meter of depth this cenote is an authentic giant pool surrounded by the most exuberant vegetation and it’s home for species such as turtles, rivers eels and tropical fishes. It is located on the kilometer 26 of the road to Tulum in Riviera Maya.

19.-Cenote Angelita.

This is one of the most incredible cenotes in Quintana Roo, it offers a unique experience for professionals divers. It has 30 meters of depth where you can find a curious phenomenon between the salt waters and sweet waters creating incredible scenery. Make sure you visit it while you are close to Tulum in Quintana Roo.

20.-Xenote Há.

Surrounded by rock formations and lush vegetation you will find an incredible subaquatic ecosystem formed by many fishes and water plants such as lilies. The crystal waters  of Há are the perfect place to snorkel while discovering the subaquatic caverns and the roots of the trees grown there. This is part of the Xenotes Tour.

21.-Xenote K’áak’.

Is located in the middle of the jungle. This open cenote offers several activities like hiking across the jungle in paths to discover and observe the exuberant vegetation where you can find some mayan species of trees, enjoying the waterslide or do zip-lines and cliff jumping. This is cenote is part of the Tour Xenotes in Riviera Maya.
