Survival guide for travel couples
Travel tips for a romantic getaway
Let’s be honest, traveling with your partner can be a little tricky sometimes; even though you have a lot of plans and dreams as a couple, at the end you are two independent people with different needs and dreams. Don’t be nervous if this is your first time going on a vacation together, I’m sure you’ll have a great time and will have many stories to tell. Just in case, here are some quick tips that might help you survive your first trip together.
Choose a destination together
Most of the times, there’s someone in the relationship who tends to have the final word in most decisions; if you are that person, try not to be selfish and listen to each other: Take decisions together. This time will be a romantic getaway in the Caribbean, and the next trip will be in an adventurous hidden place in Asia.
Set a budget plan for the entire journey
Decide how much money you’re going to spend for each day. Distribution is fundamental, it will prevent you from overtopping your budget. Make a list of all the travel expenses like food, transportation, lodging and even the little stuff you might forget like the souvenirs.
Make plans with other people or couples
It doesn’t matter where you go, you’ll always find a really cool tour you can take. The best part about taking a tour on vacations is that you can meet people from all around the world. Believe it or not, psychologists say that hanging out with other couples and friends will make you feel happy and close to each other.
Have special romantic dates
Let’s not forget about the romance. Plan something special just for the two of you, maybe a couple massage, taking a kayak lesson or simple as ordering room service. The important thing is spending quality time together while making a lot of new memories.
And finally, be spontaneous: let yourselves do whatever you want. Remember you are on vacation, far away from home. Take a lot of photos, dance, laugh and don’t get frustrated if things don’t go as you planned. Remember that the best things in life aren’t planned.
